Trip Content

  • Trip names, destinations, travel dates, and categories
  • Your RSVP status and response notes
  • Poll responses and votes
  • Shared expenses, amounts, and payment splits
  • Itinerary items (flights, lodging, activities, meals, transportation)
  • Trip photos and custom wallpapers you upload
  • Food & drink spot suggestions

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device push notification token (if you enable notifications)
  • App usage data (screens visited, features used)
  • Device type and operating system version

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Verify your identity via phone number OTP (one-time passcode)
  • Create and manage your Tripora account
  • Display your profile to other members of trips you join
  • Facilitate group trip planning, voting, and expense tracking
  • Send you push notifications about trip updates, poll deadlines, and decisions (only if you opt in)
  • Improve and maintain the app
We do not use your information for advertising or sell it to third parties.

4. Information Shared With Others

Within Your Trips

When you join a trip, other participants in that trip can see:

  • Your name, profile photo, and initials
  • Your RSVP status
  • Your votes on polls (visible to all trip members)
  • Expenses you've paid or owe
  • Your home airport and social handles, if you've chosen to make them visible

Your phone number is only shown to other trip members if you have explicitly enabled "Show phone number" in your profile settings.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase, a secure cloud database platform. We implement the following protections:

  • All data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS
  • Authentication sessions are stored in encrypted device storage (iOS Secure Enclave / Android Keystore)
  • Access to your trip data is restricted to participants of that trip through server-enforced Row Level Security (RLS) policies
  • Profile photos and trip wallpapers are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, contact us at hello@trytripora.com and we will process your request within 30 days.

Trip data (including expenses, polls, and itinerary items) associated with trips you participated in may be retained for other active participants after your account is deleted.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access — the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct — inaccurate data (update directly in the app under Profile)
  • Delete — your account and personal data
  • Opt out — of push notifications via device settings or within the app
  • Withdraw — optional social handles, phone visibility, and profile details at any time

8. Children's Privacy

Tripora is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For material changes, we will notify you through the app or via SMS. Continued use of Tripora after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
